Herve Leger, the designer known for the bandage dress made famous by Elizabeth Hurley and Hollywood bodies perfected by hours of pilates, knows the women they dress. Toned, healthy, thin and born in heels…towering higher and higher with every season! This woman wakes up perfect…minimal make-up required, a smear of bright red lips and a swab of golden SolarOil over PERFECTLY clean and freshly satin-washed nails with Super Matte Top Coat …for fingers as long as legs in the highest stilettos. You get the picture, but punctuate it with toes in Desert Suede and high shine Air Dry Top Coat and you have a picture-perfect statuesque and elongated avatar!

Oy vey, time to eat – my stomach is growling!!!! Carbs anyone???

Diego Binetti – nails for royalty!

How much do we love Diego Binetti??? He’s a lovely, thoughtful artist, who practices his art with care and honor. Each beautifully handcrafted piece was made for royalty and fussed to the detail. The models effortlessly floated down the runway. Each elegant piece was finely beaded and embroidered, each accessory hand-crafted and priceless. The nails were breathtaking: rich ebony almonds encrusted with chunks of rubies, emeralds and amethysts – and they were long enough to reveal a surprise flash of ruby or emerald on the underside. The lights beamed like lasers against the facets of the priceless stones and engraved in memory another successful showing from our lovely and treasured friend, Diego Binetti.

Behnaz Sarafphor – menswear inspired collection

On to Behnaz Sarafphor, who also had a presentation-style show, where models were dressed for a mock photo shoot in a Manhattan studio. The show was intimate and styled for a big city close-up!! The collection was menswear-inspired; complete with double-breasted suits, a camel wool trench coat with a raccoon bolero, a camel mohair car coat, and cream high-waisted trousers…all elegant, beautifully made clothes for the tasteful sophisticate. Nails were as rich as the most expensive shatoosh scarf, in a tailored rounded square shape and lavishly covered in Desert Suede and Super Matte: cashmere for nails! Note to self: call travel agent and book round the world trip where I can shop some of these fab global textiles.

Soon I woke up out of my dream of trunk travel…and had to jet off to the third show of the day!

Catherine Malandrino – exotic extravagance!

To have Catherine Malandrino first up in your day is a gift. Her vision, exotic extravagance and raw modern edge is exhilarating! The story was ‘Mongolian Nomad,’ and the pieces included weather-worn slashed-leathers, fox-fringe, chunky wool bouclé and metallic lace in mineral shades of indigo and rust, plus rich hues of eggplant, olive and bark. The accessories were hand-crafted, chunky and large scale.

The hair was roughly sculpted into a shape of a wind-blown tree and make-up was swept up and back. NAILS were rich and elegant in a distressed, taupe, milk-chocolate made with one coat of Dark Ruby, one coat of Copper Shimmer and one coat of Super Matte Top Coat, then blotted with a pad for the perfect weather-worn mani! The longer you wear it, the better it looks…like a great leather bag! We stared at the end result for practically an hour, which was as mesmerizing as a dream…..but, we had to run on to the next show!!
