Monique Lhuillier – China Doll

We stay at the Bryant Park Tents for one of the most celebrated evening gown designers: Monique Lhuillier. The look was ‘china doll,’ with a porcelain, glowing face, a shiny nude eye, a bright matte velvet red lip, hair pulled up tight and in a nest of small braids…and nails were molten liquid fire in Rouge Red. Two coats of Air Dry gave an ever-wet look that played with the light on the runway. The beauty was the perfect complement to the artful clothes that looked more like fine sculpture than anything you dream of wearing. The crowd was breathless by the end of this perfect show.

One Response to “Monique Lhuillier – China Doll”

  1. This was my among my favorites of the shows attended this season. The clothes were excquisitely made – with every detail carefully refined. I had the opportunity to meet Monique backstage. She was sweet, gracious and amazingly young. Hard to believe that someone so fresh-faced could be the creative genius behind such a line. She blended in with the backstage crowd…and could easily have been mistaken as a fashion intern, rather than the head of major fashion house.
